The creation of Hudson dates from 1909 by two ex-managers of Oldsmobile. The brand gets through the thirties with some difficulties, but the new models of 1948 meet finally the success, it is deserved because the line "Step Down" is really amazing !
"Step Down" to say that you go down in a Hudson. The monocoque body allows a low height giving more space to passengers.
The Hudson will be immortalised by the Jack Kérouac's book : On the road which praises its comfort and its reliability. The cars will be at the first places in the race of Nascar which was driven in the epoch on the beach.
In 1955 Hudson merges with Nash to form the AMC group. Since this year there hasn't been any difference between Hudson and Nash except of mechanisms. In 1958 the brand Hudson is deleted.
