The founder of the brand Ford in 1903 : Henry Ford remained famous by choosing a new strategy in the industry : difficult work conditions (the Taylorisme, see Modern times by Charlie Chaplin) were compensated by a more important salary than elsewhere, and by a hope of buying one day The Ford T, those price regularly went down.
In 1927 the model A is presented, it's the world success, the model is produced in more than 5 millions examples!! In 1931 some of models can be equipped by a V8 engine. It's the première for a cheap model but in the other aspects the improvements delay to arrive, Henry Ford had a conservative disposition.
A new model after the war arrive in 1949 and will be continued until 1951. The line is very successful and the technical delay is made up. Ford puts in a lot of effort to pass its eternal rival, Chevrolet, and even arrive to approach it.
If Ford never was a leader in the design domain, it will be in the origin of several concepts of successful cars : the Thunderbird, once enlarged, will be the first "personal car" at the same time cost-effective and flourishing to sell the sedans which has some similarities with a prestigious model. The Munstang in 1965 exceeds all the hopes of its designers : based on the compact Falcon, it will be a chameleon car able to pass from a sympathetic compact to a sport car through the large choice of accessories.
We can award to Ford the price of the best marketing, it will even sign a contracts with the cinema industry to impose its models : it will even make believe to the public that the Torino 1974 is a muscle car ! ! Ford will impose to the production of the TV series to make see only the brands of the Ford group for the principal and secondary characters ! !
